Varsfontein Stud, long renown as one of the top farms in South Africa, has had some outstanding results over the past 12 months.

Not only did Varsfontein raise Belgarion, winner of the 2020 G1 Vodacom Durban July, but the farm are also responsible for breeding champion Anything Goes, G1 Premiers Champion Stakes heroine Sentbydestiny, and four time stakes winner Erik The Red.

The farm made more headlines recently when the Varsfontein bred Yulong Prince captured Australias G1 Kennedy Cantala, while accounting for some outstanding international performers.

Varsfontein look to have produced another high-class performer in the form of Malmoos, a brilliant winner of his three starts to date including the G3 Live Games Graham Beck Stakes. Malmoos has a half-brother (Lot 161) on offer at this years National 2YO Sale in the form of On My Way -a Gimmethegreenlight colt bred on similar lines to the sires graded stakes winners Ecstatic Green and Hack Green.

The farm will be offering an excellent draft at the upcoming Emperors Palace National 2YO Sale, with Varsfonteins draft headed by two-year-olds sired by Gimmethegreenlight, Master Of My Fate and What A Winter.

Resident sire Gimmethegreenlight, whose offspring also include multiple Equus Champion Got The Greenlight and recent Australian G1 winner Yulong Prince, has four superbly bred lots in Varsfonteins draft including the aforementioned On My Way. Bush Fire (Lot 49) is a full-brother to multiple stakes winner Beataboutthebush and a half-brother to East Cape Derby winner True Master, and he is out of a dual G3 winning daughter of champion sire Badger Land.

One Night In Paris (Lot 204) is a filly out of a stakes winning daughter of Jet Master, while East Of The Sun (Lot 221), another colt bred like Ecstatic Green and Hack Green, is a half-brother to four winners including G3 Flamboyant Stakes heroine Hashtagyolo.

Varsfonteins up and coming sire Master Of My Fate, sire of champion Tempting Fate and fellow G1 winner Sentbydestiny, also has four lots on offer.  Angel Of Justice (Lot 14) is a filly whose dam is a full-sister to the dam of graded stakes winners Cousin Liz and Gimme One Night, while One For The Master (Lot 57) is a colt out of a half-sister to G1 winning champion Kochka.

Other notable lots by Master Of My Fate include Fatefully Yours (Lot 177), a three-parts sister to G1 performer Master Switch and from the same family as Master Of My Fate himself, and Fateful Day (Lot 179). The latter, bred like the sires G2 winner Basadi Faith, is out of a full-sister to Java Handicap winner Fulcrum and from the family of Jet Masters multiple G1 winning daughter Ebony Flyer.

Nice Move (Lot 232) is a Visionaire filly out of G1 Allan Robertson Fillies Championship winner On Her Toes, while Queen Dido (Lot 37) is a What A Winter filly bred on similar lines to the Western Winter sired Derby winner Winter Weather.

Proven G1 sire Judpot has two in this draft- Miss Otis (Lot 27) is a three-parts sister to champion Along Came Polly, while Cap Estel (Lot 210) is a filly whose Invincible Spirit sired dam is a half-sister to 3 black type performers.
